Jim is the senior pastor and head of staff at Carmel Presbyterian Church. Originally from Memphis, Tennessee, Jim was raised in San Diego, California and is a graduate of San Diego State and Princeton Theological Seminary. Jim has served churches in Westfield, New Jersey and Lafayette, California and was formally installed at Carmel Presbyterian May 22, 2005. Jim loves God, God’s people and the church with particular passion for mission, spiritual formation and ministries with children and youth.

Jim and his wife Becky are the proud parents of daughters Kristie who attends the Culinary Arts school at CPCC and Ashley McKinley and her husband Troy who reside in California.

Anne serves as the Associate Pastor for Missional Care.  Originally from Virginia, she attended Virginia Tech and is a die hard “Hokies” fan! Anne & her husband Scott met at seminary - Gordon-Conwell in Boston, Mass. She earned an MRE (Master of Religious Education) in 1983; Scott an M.Div. (Master of Divinity) in 1984.  Their children, Katie and Nathan (now college age), were born as they served their first church in Asheville.

Anne became certified as an educator in the PC(USA) when the children were small, and as they grew she went on to complete her M.Div. (Master of Divinity) coursework at Fuller Theological Seminary, followed by a Doctor of Ministry in Christian Spirituality and Leadership in 1999.  Her focus of study was Spiritual Transformation in the Small Group Leader.  In 2001 she was ordained as a Minister of the Word and Sacrament by the Presbytery of Charlotte.  Her passions in ministry are spiritual transformation through the practice of the disciplines and small group ministry.

Bill serves as Parish Associate Pastor with primary responsibility for Pastoral Care. His work involves visiting members of the congregation and prospective members as well as assisting Jim in hospital visits and crisis situations and the leadership of worship in addition to serving as staff resource to several ministry committees. Bill is a native of Jacksonville, Florida and is a graduate of the University of Florida and received his Bachelor of Divinity, Master of Theology, and Doctor of Ministry degrees from Union Seminary, Va. 

He has served a number of churches in the greater Charlotte area including 21 years as Pastor of Good Shepherd Presbyterian. Bill and his wife have been married over 50 years and are the proud parents of four adult children and 12 grandchildren. Bill began his ministry at Carmel in October 2006.

Carol serves as staff liaison on the Spiritual Formation Committee and the Carmel Presbyterian Weekday School. Carol's basic function is to plan, organize, direct and oversee the Christian Education program that includes opportunities for all ages. In addition she maintains the church library and conducts a monthly devotional with the Weekday School children. Her other responsibilities include coordinating the nurseries, the Worship Readiness Ministry and the summer Vacation Bible School.

Carol and her husband Rock are the proud parents of three adult children, Todd, Courtney, and Erin. Carol joined the staff in 1989 as the part-time Director of Christian Education.

A native of North Carolina, Dan is a graduate of N.C. State – majoring in Middle School Education!  He has been a middle school teacher in Apex, N.C. and Chiangmai, Thailand – where he coached basketball and volleyball teams.  Dan served as a Youth Pastor and Young Life Leader (Wyldlife) in Colorado before  moving to Thailand again to serve as a Youth Pastor!  He and his wife Kelly have two children (Bethany and James) and live near Weddington, N.C..

Paul is the Director of Music at Carmel Presbyterian Church, including Adult Choir, Children’s Choir, Handbells, and the Carmel Praise Team. Paul has an undergraduate degree in Sacred Music from Central Bible College in Springfield, MO, and a Master’s degree in Piano Performance from the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL.

Paul has also taught grades 2-12 and served on the Music Faculty of Southeastern University in Lakeland, FL. Paul’s wife, Kristine has a degree in Vocal Performance. They have 1 daughter, Sarah.

Linda is the person in the front office and also the voice on the phone when you call the church office. She is the liaison to the Columbarium Committee. A few of Linda’s responsibilities include taking reservations for church activities, and overseeing/performing the secretarial and administrative duties in the church office.

Linda also recruits volunteers to help with tasks on a recurring or one-time basis, makes appointments for the Senior Pastor and just listens if you have a blessing or a problem. She is originally a Connecticut “Yankee” and she and Ed have two grown daughters, Elizabeth and Jessica.

Darlene Conroy is our part-time bookkeeper. Her family has lived in Marvin for one year moving here from Naperville, Ill. She is married to Tim and they have 3 children. Sean, who is attending Indiana University, Brianna who is a senior at Marvin Ridge High School and Shannon, a freshman at Marvin Ridge. Darlene’s hobbies are her children and their activities and gardening.
