Men's Prayer Breakfast
Attention to prayer needs is the central focus of this group. Men of our church take turns with food preparation, while enjoying the fellowship and opportunities to support missionaries and ministries of our congregation. Monday PM Prayer Group
Based on Matthew 18: 19, 20 as Jesus promises to be in the midst of "2 or 3 gathered in My name", this small group meets weekly to pray. Prayers are welcome to come into the Prayer Room (Fellowship Hall) to pray for this, the Lord's congregation. Prayer is a powerful tool and weapon which God uses mightily in the spiritual realm and often answers in the visible realm. Come as you are available! LADIES' SPIRITUAL FORMATION
By regularly practicing prayer, meditation, scripture reading, worship, solitude and more, we put ourselves on God's path to change us "from the inside out". Join us this winter as we continue practicing the things that Jesus practiced, choosing our exercises from the wonderful "Spiritual Formation Workbook". Are our values shaped by our faith or have we defaulted to the values of our culture? This will be a question to ponder as the group studies So Long, Status Sou by Susie Flory. We pray for and encourage one another and are always blessed by time shared together. We have also begun Operation Sandwich, and make sandwiches for the Urban Ministry Center following each meeting. BAND OF BROTHERS: This winter's study is based on InSPire, because we want to be inspired by the Holy Spirit to be and do all that Jesus desires. We are also a men's accountability group. BAND OF BROTHERS South: This discipleship and accountability group contains men with a hunger to become a dedicated disciple of Jesus Christ in word and deed. We're studying Costly Discipleship by Bonheoffer, a very challenging book asking for a true commitment to Jesus! Alpha - Carmel Style!
Date and Time: Monday, January 23 for 10 weeks, 7:00-8:30 PM Location: Home of Jim and Becky Szeyller Purpose: Alpha is designed as an evangelism class for the un-churched. However, it is an excellent introduction to the basics of the Christian faith. Alpha is casual, designed to create a safe atmospherewhere any question about the Christian faith can be asked, and limited in size to ensureconversational intimacy.

COMING THIS WINTER ... a monthly small group. Chances are the newest small group beingformed is for YOU! If you have a child in elementary school and want support as you raise your childrenin the faith, be watching for news about a group that is forming just for y-o-u parents.

Sit N Stitch
Our purpose is to "stitch" for others and "warm" them with our efforts and projects. We help a group at the South County Regional Library where afghans are assembled and distributed in our Mecklenburg County communities. We also make scarves that are donated to the homeless during the winter months. On a closer home front, we lovingly knit and crochet prayer shawls and lap blankets for members of CPC.
