Wednesday Nights at Carmel are an intergenerational mid-week opportunity to get a little spiritual “injection” as we gather for dinner beginning at 5:30 p.m. followed by programming from 6:30 p.m. until 7:20 p.m. While meals are concluded, we invite you to come “hungry” and eager to tear into the topics introduced in Sunday’s sermon. Wednesday nights are an important time of fellowship and learning. Young and old meet to see friends, enjoy each others company, and engage our hearts and minds to seek God.
Each Wednesday Night dinner is offered beginning at 5:30 p,m, in the Fellowship Hall. The time not only provides nourishment, but is a special time to break bread and join in fellowship with other members. Dinner is $5.00 per person. Reservations for each Wednesday are requested to be made with Darlene. Please call the church office or Darlene for a reservation. We cannot guarantee a meal if you do not make a reservation.
Wednesday night provides an opportunities for adults to gather after dinner for a program. The program topics vary and include Bible study, life topics, studies on theology, and fun activities for self-enrichment. The program lasts until 7:15 p.m. around the time the children’s program ends.
After the program those in the choir begin practice. In addition, the hand bell choir meets for practice directly after dinner.
Carmel’s Youth (6th to 12th grade) meet every Wednesday for Youth Group. The youth eat together and are invited to partake in the meal with the congregation. The Youth then split from the congregation and enjoy fellowship and Bible study together from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The program changes from week to week, but aims to be informative and relevant to teenagers. After the program the group enjoys games or time to hang out in the The Alley.
Carmel’s Children (3s through 5th grade) eat with their parents and begin their program at 6:30 a.m. The evening includes fun songs, crafts, a bible story and games. Programming is thematic over the course of the school year.
In addition, the Children’s Choir meets on Wednesdays before dinner. Children 3 through 5th grade learn to make joyous song (and noise) to celebrate God.
